YAO provides game uniforms for all players. Uniforms include one team hat, jersey, pants and socks. Players are expected to wear their uniforms to all games.
YAO provides certain equipment, including helmets, bats, and catchers’ gear. Players must bring their own glove and are responsible for personal protection garments and baseball cleats, as desired.
Tee-ball and baseball gear can be purchased at Sports R’ Us on island, when available. Alternatively, gear can be purchased online from US-retailers (e.g. Amazon) at your discretion.
Coaches will communicate with their teams via email, WhatsApp or sport-specific apps such as TeamSnap (available to download from Apple App Store and Google Play).
We ask all parents and players, where appropriate, to please provide the correct contact details during registration – your Coach will advise their preferred method of communication, which will be the primary way for you to RSVP to practices, games, and to receive real time communications on schedule updates.
**Kindly note our Coaches rely on RSVP details to plan practices or games, and to set up appropriate stations and equipment. As our Coaches are 100% voluntary, we appreciate your help to ensure they are fully supported to run their teams effectively and efficiently.**
Once players are registered, league Commissioners organize teams fairly via draw and based on skill level. Every effort will be made to accommodate certain requests (e.g. ensuring siblings are on the same team, etc.) but we cannot guarantee it. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

For Spring Ball, players will be assembled into teams following registration and assigned to coaches by division Commissioners. Coaches will contact their team with a full schedule for the season including practices and games. We make every effort to group siblings, cousins, etc. while also keeping the teams fairly balanced.
Generally speaking, Spring Ball runs from early April to end of June, with pick-up games in July where possible. Fall Ball runs from early October to end of November or early December.
Practice days/times and game schedules will vary per division or age group and will be announced prior to registration for each program (subject to change pending final registration numbers).
We make every effort to hold practice and training as scheduled with exception around school breaks (which can vary).
Spring Ball is our 'regular season' where players are assigned to teams, and teams have structured practices and competitive games. Fall Ball is more instructional and focused on teaching the fundamentals of baseball.
Although we recommend players register for Fall Ball to prepare for Spring Ball, players are not required to participate in Fall Ball to secure a place during our regular season.
We understand that some young athletes may be engaged with other sports programs on the island that overlap with our season. We support all sports programs, baseball or otherwise, but ask you to please respect the athletes that are serious about our baseball league – kindly advise your Coach, as early as possible, about your attendance at a practice or game so they may better plan for the broader team. Thank you for your understanding.
We recommend several training videos, vetted by YAO, to help support your young athlete. More information and videos are available here. Please contact us if you’d like further information or if you are interested in a personal coaching session.
Yes! We are always looking for volunteers to help with our teams or general operations. From coaching to assisting teams to field operations, we always need assistance! Please contact us for ways that you can get involved. We appreciate any and all help!
